PHILOSOPHY

Charmaine uses an integrative approach to counselling, drawing from multiple approaches based on client needs. She integrates a curious oriented approach, with emphasis on mindfulness based self-compassion and person-centered approaches. She also pulls from multiple counselling theories including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Narrative, and Strength-based theories.

She understands that clients may seek spiritual integration into their therapeutic work. Upon request, she can integrate her Christian faith to guide clients through difficult challenges in life. She respects the range of needs clients have and is also able to establish treatment plans with individuals who do not wish to incorporate aspects of faith, but rather work together using

psychological principals alone.

Her focus is to create an environment where you feel seen, heard, and accepted in your current state.
